Dawncraft Information

Dawncraft boats go back to the mid 1950s when George Wilson realised there was a demand for leisure boat usage on the canals. The first boats were all in marine ply and then subsequently composite build using GRP superstructure around 1966. In 1970 timber craft were phased out and all craft were produced in GRP. Most production building took place in Stourport basin then later at Kidderminster. Despite struggling over several periods, Dawncraft continued until 1985. After this Galleon Marine took over producing various craft until the early 1990s. Some of the original moulds still exist.
