The Shetland Family 4 is a compact and versatile cruiser, first introduced in 1973, and remains in production due to its enduring popularity. Designed for both river and sea cruising, it measures approximately 5.5 meters in length and can accommodate up to four people. The interior features a single cabin with a V-berth in the bow that can be converted into a seating area with a table, a toilet compartment, and a small galley area. The cockpit is spacious for a boat of its size, with helm seating and side benches that can double as additional single berths. In 1996, the design was updated to include a GRP transom platform, providing more cockpit space and wrap-around seating that can convert into a double berth with a table. The boat is easy to launch from a road trailer and is typically powered by an outboard engine up to 70hp, making it a practical choice for family outings and weekend getaways.
